WOWOWOWOW !!! the paid NASA apologists are working the spin overtime trying to deny and back peddle regarding a comet that struck the sun yesterday and caused a massive CME from the sun's surface ... of course NASA and spaceweather.com (the NASA front organization and spin network for standard science) ran the following garbage ...

note we have HUNDREDS of comets hitting the sun or coming close and universally causing huge solar flare activity almost all of the time ... here is the spin from spaceweather ... and i quote ... Moreover, NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory photographed the eruption that did propel the CME into space.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]MAMMATUS OVER MINNESOTA: [/FONT] On May 10th, a severe storm captured national attention when it dumped golf-ball-sized hail on a Minnesota Twins baseball game. "I missed the hail," reports John Rogers of New Hope, Minnesota, "but I got a nice view of the clouds that formed after the storm passed." He snapped this picture in waning twilight at 8:30 pm local time:

These are mammatus clouds. Named for their resemblance to a cow's underbelly, they sometimes appear at the end of severe thunderstorms when the thundercloud is breaking up. Researchers have called them an "intriguing enigma," because no one knows exactly how and why they form.



The clouds are fairly common but often go unnoticed because potential observers have been chased indoors by the rain. If you are one of them, dash outside when the downpour stops; you could witness a beautiful mystery in the sky.

Situation: Resident of Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Suffolk heard a huge blast Tuesday. Majority of the residents reported the explosion to 911. However, a scientist from NASA elucidated that it might have been a meteor. It is noteworthy that the region provides home to military bases and people living in the surrounding are familiar to loud noises. However, the explosion heard on Tuesday was out of the usual. Many of those who reported it to 911 said the sound was so strong that it shocked the windows and doors of their houses. Some even went on to think that a massive earthquake has hit their town. Joe Zawodny, who is a scientist at the Langley Research Center of NASA, explained that it is not unusual for a sonic explosion set off by meteor. "A sonic boom is pressure wave, and it mimics an explosion," Zawodny told Life's Little Mysteries."They can be quite forceful, and can definitely rattle walls and windows." Meteors come in diverse types. Some of them are called iron meteorites. These keep melting and burning while moving down, but they stay unbroken. Furthermore, the resonance is by and large steady with a rock size almost equal to a golf ball that travels uphill with 1,000 mph leaving behind a path of sonic booms as it moves transversely in the sky, most probably closer to the earth.

Zawodny also said the explosion might have occurred by an extra vigorous incident. "Other things are made of materials that break up on way down. This thing could have come in sizeable and disintegrated, and that energy dissipated as one big boom as it broke down. So it could have actually been an explosion," Zawodny said. Moreover the NASA scientists went on to reject the speculations that the sound was caused by a supersonic military airplane. "That's always first thing you think of, but that's a very distinctive sound," he said. "You hear a double boom from a plane's sonic boom. And those sonic booms are fairly local and don't occur along a path, as this noise did. There's no doubt in my mind that it's consistent with a supersonic rock, or something else coming in from space," Zawodny added. Zawodny also stated that sonic booms are not unusual incidents. They keep occurring tens of times each year over the United States. The rock that caused the sonic boom was most probably the residue of a meteor shower linked with the Comet of Halley that climaxed on May 6.

วันที่ 21 พฤษภาคม มีจะมีการเรียงตัวระหว่าง ดวงอาทิตย์ ดาวหาง Elenin และ ดาวศุกร์ คาดว่าจะเกิดปฏิกริยาที่ดวงอาทิตย์ขนาดใหญ่อีกเช่นกัน และอาจส่งผลกระทบต่อโลกในวันที่ 23-25 พฤษภาคม ซึ่งอาจจะมีทั้งรูปแบบแผ่นดินไหวและสภาพอากาศแปรปรวน ซึ่งเหตุการณ์ในวันนี้จะเป็นการบ่งบอกว่า Elenin มีนัยสำคัญหรือไม่

วันที่ 18 พฤษภาคม เวลาประมาณ 20 UTC เกิดเหตุระเบิดขนาดใหญ่ที่ดวงอาทิตย์แบบ Global eruption นอกจากนั้นยังส่งพลังงาน X-ray ระดับ C2 ในเวลา 18:30 UTC มาที่โลก ทิศทางของพลังงานบางส่วนมาที่โลกซึ่งอาจจะส่งผลกระทบต่อโลกในรูป แบบแผ่นดินไหวระดับ 6.5-8.5 ริตเตอร์ ด้วยความน่าจะเป็น 90% พี้นที่เสียงบนโลกนั้นยังคาดการณ์ได้ไม่เที่ยงตรงนักแต่อาจจะเป็นบริเวณ มหาสมุทรอินเดีย ทวีปอเมริกาเหนือ หรือ ทะเลแปซิฟิกตอนใต้ ในช่วงระหว่างวันที่ 21-23 พฤษภาคม

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the eruption during the late hours of May 18th. (Watch the movie again. The limb blast appears to have triggered a sympathetic eruption near the sun's north pole. The two regions are probably connected by magnetic fields, but that's another story.) The May 18th eruption was followed by another on May 19th; both hurled CMEs into space. The clouds will sail wide of Earth, continuing the recent spell of relatively quiet space weather around our planet.

Shown above, a hedgerow of cool, dark plasma held aloft by magnetic fields is backlit by the hot solar corona. The entire "bush" is about eight times wider than Earth. Before the Hubble-sharp cameras of SDO were brought to bear on the sun, structures like this were seen either in poor detail or not at all. As a result, no one can say with any surety what will happen next. Will the plasma weigh down its magnetic support and collapse, bringing an end to the quiet, or instead remain a simple point of interest? Stay tuned.
